Who are Jay and Jack?
“The Lost Podcast with Jay and Jack” began on October 1, 2005, soon after Jay Glatfelter discovered his love for both Apple-brand computers and the TV show LOST. Luckily, he managed to convince Jack that his TV expertise and talent for crackpot theories would be needed and the two San Diego, California natives were off and running.
Based out of Raleigh, North Carolina, it was one of the first LOST podcasts, following in the footsteps of the famous, groundbreaking LOST podcast, “The Transmission,” by Ryan and Jen Ozawa. Since its inception, “The Lost Podcast with Jay and Jack” has become one of the biggest LOST podcasts out there. It has won numerous awards, including a Podcast Award for Best Entertainment in 2007 and has been nominated for numerous podcast awards. “The Lost Podcast” was picked by the Official LOST magazine as one of the best LOST fansites on the web and chosen as one of iTunes’ Best Podcasts of 2006. When LOST was airing, it was continually in the Top 100 podcasts on iTunes and is always one of the top podcasts in the TV & Film categories.
The origins of the relationship between Jay and Jack remained a mystery for the first two seasons of the show. After years of fan theorizing and some sly hinting, the duo finally revealed the answer during their very own panel at the 2007 Comic Con. Together with the infamous Director Clif, Jay and Jack have released several vidcasts, including but not limited to Red Carpet Coverage from the final season of LOST’s “Sunset on the Beach” premiere, an exclusive tour from some of the sets of LOST, the LOST panel from Comic Cons 2006-2009, a mysterious trilogy, and an interview with LOST stars Daniel Dae Kim (Jin) and Jorge Garcia (Hurley). Garcia has been a frequent contributor to “The Lost Podcast” and a guest on Jay and Jack’s second podcast, “Jay and Jack’s Ramblecast.” He is seen wearing a JayandJack.com t-shirt in the extras on the LOST Season 3 DVD. Jay and Jack have also taken part in several interviews with LOST actor Michael Emerson (Ben).
In addition to “The Lost Podcast with Jay and Jack,” you can subscribe to other podcasts from the pair. The B+H network (Bitter Jay + Handsome Jack) includes the brand new “All TV with Jay and Jack,” and “The Married Man Podcast,” a podcast produced by Jay that stars Jack and longtime best friend Dale. Jay & Jack expanded their podcasting empire to include new cohosts with Jack’s “Sports Talk with 3 Stupid Guys” featuring Jay, Matt, & IronFiggy Rob and “ChuckCast” with Jay & Colleen. Jay and Jack have inspired many others to begin their own podcasts and helped build up a large podcasting community. Other podcasts that they have appeared on are “The Transmission,” “MYOKOM w/ SAS,” “Comic News Insider,” “LOSTcasts,” “Flight815 Survivor’s Podcast,” “The Lost Chicks’ Podcast,” “The Jamcast,” “MetroBuzz,” “The Dharmalars,” and “Media Junkyard.”
